What area does each unit protect?
Each repeller unit will cover a circle of 15metres radius, a total area of approx 1250sqm. You will get a large circle area of coverage 40 metres across. So they can be spaced 35 metres apart for optimum coverage.

How does it work?
This unique repeller has been developed to scare away all kinds of snakes; it emits a pulsing vibration, which the snake picks up through sensors throughout its body. The snake perceives a danger zone causing them to evacuate the area; most snakes will retreat almost immediately.

The sense organs of snakes are uniquely different than those of mammals and other animals. Unlike mammals, which mainly rely on their sight and hearing, snakes rely primarily on their senses of smell and touch. They do not have moveable eyelids, but transparent caps called "brille" as protective eye coverings. Because of this, their eye movement is fairly limited. They also do not have an external ear, middle ear, or tympanic membrane (eardrum). Instead, they use a small ossicle (ear bone), called the "columella," to detect vibrations of sound waves conducted through the ground. They are able to pick up some sound waves conducted through the air, but only at very low frequencies. Snakes actually sense the vibration right throughout their bodies via their spine, this is termed somatic hearing, where the vibration is picked up and transferred along the spinal cords to the ear bone.

Much research has gone into developing the correct type of pulse to trigger the retreat instinct in snakes. Will it affect my Horses and Dogs? NO. The repeller will not affect any other animals, birds or fish. The repellers are used by many of our customers to protect their valuable animals without any adverse affects whatsoever.

Will it keep away other pests? NO. These specially designed repeller units are for repelling snakes only. Their internal circuitry and signal generator are set to produce a unique pulse that will be felt by snakes triggering their retreat instinct. They are not intended to repel anything else and to our knowledge they only affect snakes.

Will they keep snakes away from my dog runs? Yes. If you place some repellers around the outside of the area where your dogs are they will certainly help to keep snakes away from your dogs.

Are they difficult to install, will I have to get somebody in, to place them? The units are very easy to install, follow instructions supplied (4 easy steps), easily done in minutes.

Do they need to be in full sun? No. They will operate perfectly well even in partial shade as long as they have some sunlight each day.

What maintenance is normally required? Very Little! An occasional wipe of the solar panel to clean off any dirt, in winter we suggest that you take them out and store indoors in areas of cold - heavy snow districts, in warmer districts they can be safely left in place all year round.

Will fences affect how the repellers work? No. The repellers signal will travel through the ground under fences, concrete paths, sheds and behind retaining walls to drive out any snakes that may be hiding underneath them.

Do the repellers work through water, to keep cottonmouths and water snakes away? Yes. The repellers signal does travel through the water, and has been very successful at keeping many kinds of water snakes away, when placed at the waters edge or close to fishponds.

How can I tell that the unit is operating correctly? You can tell that the unit is working correctly as it has a red indicator light which flashes every few minutes.

How long should the batteries last? The unit now contains 2 AA NiMh 1.2V rechargeable batteries.

What warranty do you provide? The units come with our warranty. To replace or repair any faulty units. But we will do our best to assist if any units malfunction after time. We also carry some spares so if an accident happens please contact us and we will be happy to try and help fix any problem.

Do you offer a money back Guarantee? Yes - if you are dissatisfied with the units when you receive them, and you return them to us in an unused condition, within seven days - for overseas customers please advise that they are being returned by air within this period. When we receive the returned units, we will issue a refund of the purchase price less 20% to cover our shipping and handling expenses.
